Scheduled Commands

Location: Main Menu > Monitor/Command > Scheduled Commands
 

Scheduled Commands allow you to automatically command hardware (doors, readers, outputs, etc.) based on a defined schedule.

They are commonly used to unlock doors during business hours, activate outputs, or change reader modes at specific times.
 

 

Overview

A Scheduled Command consists of three main components:

•Device – The hardware object to be controlled

•Command – The action to perform

•Schedule – The time period when the command should occur

 

Scheduled Commands eliminate the need for manual daily actions.
 

Creating a Scheduled Command

•Click Create New (upper left).

•Complete the following fields:
 

Step 1 – Select the Device

•Choose the hardware object you want to control.

•Available commands will change depending on the selected device.
 

Step 2 – Select the Command
Examples include:

•Unlock

•Lock

•Change reader mode

•Activate output

•Deactivate output
 

Step 3 – Assign a Schedule

•Open the Schedules tab.

•Click Add.

•Select the desired Schedule.

•Click OK.

•Save the Scheduled Command.
 

The command will now execute automatically according to the assigned schedule.

Editing a Scheduled Command

Click the name of the Scheduled Command from the list.

•Modify:

oDevice

oCommand

oSchedule

oExceptions (if needed)

•Click Save.

Exceptions allow you to temporarily modify a Scheduled Command for a specific date.
 

To add an Exception:

•Open the Scheduled Command.

•Click the Exceptions tab.

•Click Add.

•Select:

oDate

oTime range

oException Type
 

Exception Types

Add to Schedules

Adds additional active time beyond the normal schedule.

 
Example:

Normal unlock time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Add exception: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Result: Door unlocks 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM on that date.
 

Override Schedules

Replaces the normal schedule for the selected date.

Example:

Normal unlock time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Override exception: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Result: Door unlocks only from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM on that date.
