Holiday Groups

Location: Main Menu > Access Control > Holiday Groups

Overview

Holiday Groups are used to organize multiple holidays into a single group, which can then be applied to Schedules. This allows the system to adjust access behavior automatically on specific dates such as holidays, closures, or special events.

Instead of modifying schedules for each individual holiday, Holiday Groups provide a centralized and reusable way to manage exceptions.

2.Edit or create a Schedule

3.In the Active Days & Times tab:

oClick “Add New Day/Holiday”

oSelect the Holiday Group instead of a day

oDefine the desired time range

Example Use Case

Scenario: Office closed on major holidays

Create Holidays:

oNew Year’s Day

oIndependence Day

oChristmas Day

Add them to a Holiday Group:

o“Company Holidays”

Apply to Schedule:

oSet Holiday Group time range to no access (or limited hours)

Result: Doors automatically follow holiday rules without modifying regular schedules.

Best Practices

Group related holidays together (e.g., Company Holidays, School Closures)

Keep naming clear and consistent

Use Holiday Groups instead of editing schedules repeatedly

Review annually to ensure all dates are current

Combine with Schedules for flexible exception handling

Important Notes

Holiday Groups do not function on their own

They must be applied within a Schedule to take effect

If no Holiday Group is applied, normal schedule behavior will continue on holidays
