User Permissions

When installing WebBrix, log into the server as a local Administrator. In other words, a user that is a member of the local Administrators group. This user must have a password (not blank) as it's required when using DCOM.

During the installation of WebBrix you'll be prompted to enter the username and password for the user who's authority the needed services will run under. This user also needs to be a local administrator. The machine you're installing WebBrix on can fall into one of two categories. The server can either be part of domain or part of a workgroup. There are some "best practice" rules that apply to both scenarios.

Workgroup: When installing WebBrix across multiple machines in a workgroup environment you should create a user that's part of the Administrators group on every server involved. This user must have the same username and password on each server. This user should be the one who's authority the needed services will run under.

Domain: When installing WebBrix across multiple machines in a domain environment you should create a domain user and had this user to the Administrators group on every server involved. This user should be the one who's authority the needed services will run under.
